Glassblowing:

Urban Glass

Urban Glass is where I learned to blow glass. They are the largest public access glassblowing studio in the United States and are located in Brooklyn, the coolest borough in the United States.

John Pomputius

John (“Pomp”) Pomputius has been my teacher and mentor, beginning at Urban Glass and then at his studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where he allowed me to work and help teach his students. He moved the Philadelphia and I miss him. John Pomp Studios was recently featured in Fortune Magazine after it landed at No. 5 on this year’s Inner City 100 list, a ranking of the fastest-growing inner city businesses in the United States from the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City

PaddlesHe took with him my cork paddles (you can see my name clearly engraved in them), which I see he still uses to make his amazing artwork. I am sure that they are the secret to his success and I sorely miss them too!

Nick Mount

Nick Mount

Nick Mount was my glassblowing instructor at Pilchuck Glass School, the glassblowing retreat founded by Dale Chihuly. Fantastic glassblower and teacher and, like most Australians, knows how to party!

Right now I’m enjoying my status as an “outsider artist.”
